Early 1900s Antique Italian Renaissance Revival, Set of 3, Dining Room Set!! Stunning antique three-piece dining set, Italian Renaissance Revival, Carved Lion, early 20th century, 1900s! This exquisite dining set is a true work of art, hailing from the Italian Renaissance Revival period in the early 1900s. The set includes a beautiful rectangular dining table, a sideboard/buffet, and a cupboard, all crafted from high-quality walnut wood with stunning dark wood tones. Italian Renaissance Revival walnut table, early 20th century., rectangular top with molded edge, carved full-body lion supports, stretcher-joined base, rising on large paw feet, some lifting and bubbling to veneer on top, approximately 30.25" height, 70.75" width, 37.5" depth, bottom of apron to floor (clearance): approximately 24.25" height. Italian Renaissance Revival style carved walnut sideboard, early 20th century, having molded cornice with scrolled foliates, over figural grotesque supports, six paneled cabinet doors with central shield motif, flanked by knights and horses in relief, lower case rising on lion supports, ending in paw feet, approximately 81" height, 79" width, 20.5" depth. Italian Renaissance Revival carved walnut sideboard, early 20th century, having stepped cornice, upper shelf rising on figural grotesque supports, over three drawers, flanked on both sides by cabinet doors depicting knights in combat, opening to shelved interior, rising on figural lion supports, ending in protruding paw feet, approximately 62.5" height, 79" width, 20.5" depth. Italian Renaissance Revival style tends to mimic the Renaissance period of Italy that started in Florence in the early 1400s and spread throughout Europe. Renaissance Revival was introduced in the early 1850s as a counterbalance to the flowery Rococo Revival. This style of furniture is highly eclectic, drawing inspiration from the original Renaissance and various other styles. The distinctive feature of Renaissance Revival is its imposing scale and architectural design. It features high-backed beds, lavishly carved tables, fanciful seating, and towering case pieces.
