Striking dining set by Italian designer Guglielmo Pecorini, consisting of a freeform table and five sculptural chairs. The table’s polygonal top in chestnut showcases the natural beauty of the wood grain and harmonizes beautifully with the warm frame. Supported by three tapered legs, it displays a refined balance and lightness. The chairs in pinewood feature vividly carved surfaces finished with gouge cut, a distinctive crescent cutout in the backrest, and rounded seats on splayed legs. Together, the set forms a cohesive composition that embodies the elegance and craftsmanship of Italian design in the 1950s.

Guglielmo Pecorini
Guglielmo Pecorini, known for carved wood accessories shaped like fruit or nuts as well as furniture designs, was highly regarded in his day, and his small body of artisanal work turns up at major auctions such as Wright today. He is pictured at work in his small atelier in Italy at Work (1955) and his chairs are shown along with Craft productions by peers such as Carlo Mollino, Fontana Arte, Azucena, Cesare Lacca and casa e Giardino.
