About the Item

An ingenious expression of functional minimalism, this wall-mounted folding table was designed in 1970 as part of the Aggregabili series by the avant-garde Turin-based collective Anonima Design (Sergio Pareti, Ezio Luzi, Federico Prandi, Viviana Riccato, Mario Virano) for Bonetto. Executed in birch plywood, its geometry is both sculptural and exacting: a circular tabletop nestles into a cut-out recess when folded, transforming into a graphic panel against the wall. The structure is supported by hinged doors that open beneath the drop-leaf, articulating Anonima Design’s radical ethos of space-saving versatility. Their design philosophy, born from a rejection of decorative excess, sought to create objects of transformation. A rare and poetic example of post-rational Italian design, this piece exemplifies the group’s enduring interest in adaptable, multifunctional forms. Condition: Great vintage condition, with a few minor surface scratches and marks. Light chipping to the wood veneer along the bottom left of the base and the left edge of the tabletop when unfolded. Includes hardware for wall mounting and is designed to be affixed to the wall. The table is supported by two wooden legs that lock into place with small acrylic brackets.
