Nils Jonsson for Troeds – Double Extending Dining Table in Stained Teak with Chairs (c.1970)
An elegant mid-century Scandinavian dining set featuring a double-extending teak dining table designed by Nils Jonsson for Swedish maker Troeds, complete with matching dining chairs.
The Table
This superb piece embodies Scandinavian modernism at its best — form following function. The table is crafted in richly grained, stained teak and showcases Jonsson’s signature design detail: the beautifully sculpted “skirt” beneath the top. Two extension leaves can be used individually or together, allowing the table to expand with ease whenever extra guests are expected.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition — the tabletop has been recently restored by a professional furniture restorer, leaving the piece sturdy, smooth, and ready for use.
The Chairs
The set includes six chairs with beige textured upholstered seats and matching top rails in fabric, complemented by elegantly shaped back posts.
Dimensions (approx): H74 × W51 × D42 cm
Condition: Good vintage condition.
Price is for the complete set (table + chairs), also includes cost of upholstery to the chair seats and backs.
The chairs are in the process of being upholstered, with new foam, wadding and fabric to comply with current fire and safety regulations 2025. The fabric - Luxury Yorkshire Herringbone Tweed - Winter Coast and is in a similar colour to what was on the original chairs. Please view the extra images, as I have included some images of the new fabric.

Founded in 1934 by Svea and Hugo Troedsson, Troeds became one of Sweden’s most influential mid-century furniture makers. Their collaborations with leading designers such as Nils Jonsson and Yngve Ekström produced refined pieces celebrated for their balance of lightness, beauty, and function. Troeds’ output is now regarded as a benchmark of Scandinavian modern design.
