A superb Regency-style ebonised and parcel-gilt extending dining table, purchased from Liberty and beautifully echoing the craftsmanship and aesthetic of Maison Jansen. This elegant and highly functional table epitomises refined early 20th-century French design, blending neoclassical restraint with subtle glamour.
The table’s ingenious mechanism allows it to transform effortlessly from an intimate 148cm round dining table into a grand and impressive banqueting piece of 200cm, 250cm, or 300cm in length through the addition of one or more 50cm leaves. The beautifully ebonised top features a rich, deep lustre that contrasts harmoniously with the parcel-gilt detailing, highlighting its fine Regency-inspired lines and edges.
Resting upon a pair of gracefully shaped pedestals, the table offers excellent stability and proportion, while the gilt accents lend a touch of timeless sophistication. Its versatile form makes it ideal for both everyday dining and formal entertaining, perfectly suiting contemporary and traditional interiors alike.
