About the Item
Refined Biedermeier round salon table in walnut from the early 19th century. The circular top is veneered in richly figured walnut burl arranged in a radiating starburst that reads beautifully from every angle. The thick apron sits on an octagonal column and a sculptural tri-form base, all walnut veneered, with ebonized collars and foot blocks that underline the clear geometry typical of Biedermeier design. The surface has been professionally restored and hand-polished with shellac, giving a deep, warm gloss while preserving the character of the timber. Underside construction and joinery are consistent with period craftsmanship.
This walnut Biedermeier table is stable and ready for daily use as a foyer centerpiece, writing table, or intimate dining table for up to four. Comfortable legroom is provided, with a clearance from floor to apron of 68 cm. Minor age-related veneer touch-ups present, carefully blended. A handsome, authentic example that brings the quiet elegance of Biedermeier to contemporary interiors.
