A wonderful mahogany breakfast table dating from the early 19th century, that features a tilt-top and an elegant swept leg tripod base. This rare and attractive piece is superior to most examples, showcasing rich colour and a fine patina developed over time.
Features and Craftsmanship
Crafted from mahogany with a circular tilt-top
Lovely tapered legs standing on period brass castors support a gun barrel stem.
Exceptional colour and depth of patina
Heavy, solid, and sturdy with no loose joints
Historic steel strengthening to the base (common for this type), structurally sound and stable
No signs of woodworm

In good antique condition, with the expected historic knocks, marks, wear, imperfections, repairs, and alterations consistent with genuine 19th-century functional furniture. The finish is in good condition, enhancing its overall presentation. The top hold-down catch works well. There is a secondary hold-up catch, which is not fully operational (often these tables don't have one of these at all, so it isn't a big issue).
