About the Item
For us to find an Antique English Drop-Leaf Dining Table this old and in this unrestored condition is so unusual that we almost get a little giddy. The 250-year old patina, to what looks to be the original finish is almost unbelievable, now only if we could copy it? Generally we don't look for drop-leaf tables for they are not the easiest thing to sell, but when you fold down both sides and use it as a console table or sofa table it begins to make a lot of sense. Then when you entertain and are looking for extra seating you simply slide it out and it transforms into what it was originally intended to be, a dining room or kitchen dining table. Between the aged semi-faded color of the English oak and the finish it becomes quite compelling and we fell for the table lock, stock and barrel.
