What a find, this suite is important, decorative and looks sublime in any setting, the original versions of these were made in Paris Circa 1610-1620, they were usually commissioned for grand castles, this is a Revival suite which dates to the mid 1800's Circa 1860
What you have is a wonderful extending dining table, with the chairs included you can very comfortably seat 10 guests, with normal chairs and if you have two either end that number increases to a maximum of 16
The table has ornately carved plaques around the freeze with inset marble panels, the pillared legs are oversized Roman Corinthian pillars which are joined with a very web of very sculptural stretchers, the top has a very simple sliding in and out manual movement which a single person can operate
The chairs are amazing, they have hand carved Regal lion finials straight out of an Armorial Coat of Arms, the back rest has matching Corinthian pillars to the mid back with the top rail showing carving plaques of rural, farming and general life in the 18th century
Condition wise we have deep cleaned, hand condition waxed and hand polished it from top to bottom, there will be age and use related patina marks here and there, mostly its in very fine order. The table top extension leaves are darker than the main table as they have never really been used, some of the chairs have small losses to the little carvings
The carver chair arms fit under the table top when the table is extended

Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
