We can recommend that you see the six chairs of the same design that we posted on 1Stdibs in June 2022 possibly matching the coffee table. Iconic and rare French table; it is made of steam-curved beech wood; the round top with an elegant high edge sits on a sturdy base formed by four softly shaped elements that hold the top at the tabletop and form a solid support for the entire table at the bottom. This table has exceptional versatility, in fact, thanks to a clever metal mechanism (see photo), it can be extended with a crossbar, or for even more space another crossbar can be added, and the small round table turns into a large dining table for many guests ( see photo). The entire construction is of high quality, the structure, whose wood has been steam-curved, has pleasant rounded shapes with a striking organic design that corresponds to the furniture design fashion of the 1960s with an expressive and innovative style. It was created between 1964 and 1968 by the Baumann Manufacture from beech wood from the forests surrounding Colombier-Fontaine (France). The Baumann Manufacture was one of the most important French companies in the furniture market, particularly chairs, of the 20th century. Baumann very quickly surrounded himself with the best engineers and technicians and distinguished himself by making Baumann a brand of high-quality products through the choice of materials and assembly techniques, innovation through the development of steam bent beech wood, and customer loyalty by offering replacement parts such as wooden seat bottoms to replace worn or damaged ones. The French manufacturer also knew how to adapt its models to the trends of its time by offering, for example, in the 1960s a more elegant series with more noble materials (our table belongs to this period). The Baumann industry has created hundreds of very varied models over the years that have had their share of modernity based on the era of their design. Our iconic table has a Scandinavian-inspired silhouette, a streamlined, minimalist design, an excellent quality finish, and exceptional comfort and versatility of use. The table has been restored and is in excellent condition. Measurements closed diameter cm.110, height cm.75. Measures extended with one crosspiece length cm.151, depth cm.110. Measurements extended with two crossbars length cm.192, depth cm.110. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects.
