About the Item
Exquisite large early 20th century country English farmhouse dining table featuring thick, chunky barley twist legs. The rectangular top has been refinished to intentionally showcase the fantastic straight walnut woodgrains. The top is over 2 inches thick crafted form solid walnut planks. The trestle base features robust turned barley twist legs conjoined by a long stretcher and ending with bun feet. The stretcher is crafted with an exposed mortise and tenon joinery. The table measures over 7 feet long with ample leg room measuring over 24 inches from the floor to the apron. Crafted in the old world style with mostly wood peg joinery. The massive top has a dark peg joinery to echo the craftsmanship quality. The table is very heavy and solid with sturdy construction and grand scale. - Condition:Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use. Beautifully crafted with solid joinery and construction. Top intentionally natural tone with dark trestle base as seen in photos. Very good, well preserved condition with very flat true top. Minor age cracks, scuffs, and scratches.
