About the Item
Initially designed for a client with a summer home out in East Hampton, the East End Trestle is made with large dinner parties in mind. It is sturdy, yet light, and the base can be disassembled should you decide to set it out on the porch for a night or a season. Shown in whitewashed white oak in a nod to the silver toned deck boards lining the many docks of the Suffolk county coast.
We begin each trestle table with scrupulously chosen lumber; straight grained and free of any large knots or defects. The boards are milled on our highly tuned machines, then the complex joinery for the base is cut by hand. The top and all the parts are polished with a well sharpened hand plane leaving a low sheen unattainable with sandpaper.
Available in white oak, walnut, or cherry.

West of Noble
West of Noble is a Los Angeles based design practice dedicated to the pursuit of making wooden furniture by hand. It was founded by designer and itinerant woodworker Greg Mitchell in Greenpoint, Brooklyn in 2011, but is inspired by a lifetime of travel, time spent on the sea, various odd jobs, wooden sailboats, and friends and family; without whom the company would not exist. Our designs are guided by the making process, and the unpredictable nature of our chosen material. We aim for the simplest line in each piece, believing it is only finished when there is nothing left to take away.
