About the Item

Introducing a rare, extension dining table designed by the influential H.W Klein for the lauded Bramin Møbler company. Crafted from a mix of solid and veneered Burmese teak with exquisite woodgrains and intricate woodworking this gorgeous table can easily expand up to 82.5" accommodating up to eight guests comfortably making it perfect for both office and home settings. Originally founded as N.A. Jørgensen Møbelfabrik in Bramming, Denmark, the company rebranded as Bramin Møbler in the late 1950s. During the 1960s, Bramin Møbler pivoted from the traditional Scandinavian style it had been known for as N.A. Jørgensen Møbelfabrik and steered toward the emerging Scandinavian modern style. It prioritized quality, form and function by fashioning its varied pieces from strong woods like mahogany, teak and rosewood, and by using wool and leather to upholster its seating, Bramin Møbler ensured that the superb quality of its work would last the test of time. Throughout the company’s operation, Bramin Møbler collaborated with many highly regarded modern furniture makers, including greats like Johannes Andersen, Hans Olsen, Kurt Østervig and Frank Reenskaug. Bramin's most successful partnership was with Norwegian furniture designer H. W. Klein, who moved to Bramming to work for Bramin Møbler in 1960. Over the following two decades, Klein created finely crafted coffee tables and dining chairs, but he is best known for his lounge chairs — most notably, his leather-padded swivel lounger, with its five-spoked, wheeled base. Having studied Interior Design under the renowned designer Finn Juhl at the Tekniske Skole in Frederikberg, Klein went on to leave an indelible mark on the Danish Modern movement with designs that are timeless and still highly sought after by collectors and designers alike. Though this table does show some minor repairs, hence the discounted price, it has been professionally repaired by our team of craftsmen ensuring this table is ready for a lifetime more of use. With exceptional joinery unique to Klein's design, rich use of Burmese teak and the ability to expand an contract in mere seconds this table is perfect for collectors and designers alike searching for an authentic H.W. The mix of solid and veneered teak is in very good shape showing some minor nicks as well as two crack repairs (which can be seen in the detail photos and video provided). With that said the table is in overall very good shape and the cracks on the legs have been professionally repaired ensuring this table will last a lifetime. The single extension leaf is easily installed or removed in mere seconds and the able expands and contracts with ease. *Note - Leaf stores separately.
