The Frank Lloyd Wright Cassina Midway 2 and 3 enameled steel dining set in Blue color is a remarkable ensemble that combines timeless design with historical significance. This set comprises four Midway 2 Steel Chairs and a Midway 3 Table, featuring a round glass top measuring 47.2 inches in diameter. Please note that this set exhibits some minor issues, as clearly depicted in the accompanying pictures. Throughout its lifetime, it has never undergone any restoration work and has been exclusively used as an outdoor set, resulting in visible signs of oxide, rust, stains, and general weathering. These authentic markings contribute to the set's unique character and serve as a testament to its originality. This dining set is a genuine Cassina production from 1986, meticulously crafted to honor Frank Lloyd Wright's visionary designs. The Midway 2 chair, originally designed in wood in 1914 for indoor spaces and Midway 2 chair (steel) for outdoor spaces, were part of the Midway project. Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, FLW's designs were not realized at the time. However, in collaboration with the FLW Foundation, Cassina produced a limited edition of the Midway 2 chair in 1986, faithfully recreating Wright's vision. Made from enameled steel rod, this particular set showcases the captivating blue color. Each piece in this set bears the official markings and stamps of both the manufacturer and the FLW Foundation, signifying its authenticity. Additionally, all the necessary paper certifications are included, further validating its historical significance. Here we present a set of two Midway 2 chairs in their original charcoal grey finish and fabric upholstery. The chairs feature the rare padded back design and are accompanied by the original square glass top, creating a truly remarkable ensemble. It is incredibly rare to find a complete set in such exceptional original condition, including the table and glass. Included in this collection is Image 12, showcasing the original FLW sketch for the Midway 2 chair, providing a glimpse into Wright's visionary ideas. This set represents a unique opportunity to own a piece of architectural history and to appreciate the craftsmanship and vision of Frank Lloyd Wright.
