This refined French side table, dating to the circa 1880s, exemplifies the late 19th-century revival of Louis XV forms, interpreted through the lens of skilled artisanal cabinetmaking. Crafted in solid walnut, the table is distinguished by its softly contoured top and elegantly cabriole legs, each enriched with deeply carved floral and foliate motifs that reveal a confident hand and a mature decorative vocabulary.
The sculptural carving, particularly evident in the vertical leg reserves, reflects the persistence of naturalistic ornamentation well into the Belle Époque, where historic styles were revisited with renewed technical precision.
