About the Item

French tilt-top 'table de vendange,' or wine-tasting table circa 1870-1910. Large round walnut top raised upon an oak trestle base with lyre-shape harp mechanism. All hand-carved. Naturally semi-bleached mid-brown finish. Tilt-top fully functional and can be stored tilted upright for storage. Serves as a large side or end table, or as a dining table for breakfast or intimate dinners, both indoors and al fresco. Note: Original/early finish on antique and vintage metal will include some, or all, of the following: patina, scaling, light rust, discoloration, and corrosion. Regional differences in humidity and climate during shipping may cause antique and vintage wood to shrink and/or split along its grain, veneer to loosen and/or peel, and painted finishes and gilt to crack and flake.
