About the Item

Denmark, ca. 1950s. An early and rare large dining table by Hans Wegner - produced by cabinetmaker Johannes Hansen. Features an oval old growth teak top supported by an organic, almost Shaker style white oak base. Thick tapered legs, elaborate stretcher system, and additional drop-down support ensure stability. Three 22.5” leaves allow table to easily seat 12 to 14 dining companions when fully extended. A remarkable example of Wegner’s singular approach to design and unwavering commitment to quality. Professionally refinished, the condition is excellent with a rich tone to wood surface. A soulful and inviting heirloom in the making. Dimensions: 70.5” long x 51.5” wide x 28.5” high (without leaf inserted); 147” long x 51.5” wide x 28.5” high (with 3 leaves inserted).
