A truly sublime table, this is firstly large, it seats up to eight people with ease, the whole piece is super decorative and would have been commissioned for the entrance of a grand Parisian Palace or similar estate, today we tend to use these pieces more practically for dining
As you can see the base has been ornately carved and applied with the finest gold gilding, the quality of the work is exquisite, you will be hard pressed to find a better example of this type of work anywhere in the world
Condition wise, the table has been fully restored to include being lightly washed back and French polished from the ground up, the end rest is sublime, the pictures don't come close to doing it justice. There will of course be normal age and use related patina, the gilding has also aged, these are all honest signs of a well used period piece
