About the Item
Designed in 1944, the Rudder series was introduced in 1948 to the growing post-war market. Although akin to the clean lines of other Herman Miller furniture, Noguchi's pieces are unique in their expressiveness and radical for their association with the spirit of fine arts. Ultimately, the biomorphic designs proved too avant-garde for the general public and production ceased after only three years.
