This elegant Italian Art Nouveau dining table belongs unequivocally to the Liberty tradition, expressing the movement's synthesis of organic form, symbolic ornament, and refined craftsmanship. Executed in solid walnut, the table is distinguished by its sculptural central stretcher carved as a stylized lyre-an emblematic motif within Art Nouveau vocabulary, evoking harmony, music, and the idealized unity of art and life.
The softly contoured lines of the base, the fluid curvature of the central support, and the measured proportions of the legs reveal a decorative language rooted in natural rhythm rather than geometric abstraction. Unlike later Art Deco interpretations, here ornament remains lyrical and structural at once, seamlessly integrated into the architecture of the piece.
