About the Item
A handsome and large scale Italian late 17th century Baroque Period Walnut center/dining table. This impressive and richly detailed rectangular table is raised on two elongated Walnut plinths with foliate designs joined by a pegged Walnut stretcher. Above are four baluster shaped and acanthus leaf decorated legs with mottled bands at the base, and rope designed bands before the turned capitals. Solid Walnut cornices are set above and support the palatially scaled Walnut top. Above is the solid Walnut rectangular top displaying a bullnose edge above a dentil band which wraps around all sides. Wonderful warm and rich patina throughout.
