About the Item
This marvelous French table is entirely made from solid oak and features lyre-shaped, scrolled legs. The legs are deeply carved and decorated with acanthus leaves, inspired by Greek stone carvings. The wood is has exceptional grain -straight and uniform, without knots or excessive "cathedral" grain. The original varnish finish has been stripped off, revealing the figure and color of the wood itself. This is an antique piece that has been adapted to modern taste and blends well in contemporary or vintage design schemes. It is very solid and in all-around excellent condition.
