About the Item

The intricately shaped legs of the PH circle table – inspired by the agile movement of the scarab beetle, together with the benefit of precision design and engineering – enable Poul Henningsen to design a table with the most unobtrusive of legs. Measures: 1270 x 1820mm. A triumph of aesthetic design as well as function, even the smallest apartments can be accommodating this table, which with its extension leaves, easily provides additional capacity for extra guests. For daily use, the smaller circle is perfect and very pleasant to sit at with plenty of space for legs, yet when friends are coming over or family is gathering together this piece can be transformed into a spacious table. The PH circle table is a piece of furniture that will be coveted by this and many generations to come. Designed in the 1930s, yet it is so contemporary and modern in finishing and look. The PH circle table comes in three different sizes in addition to the extension system and with a variety of finishes of the table tops: natural oak, black oak or laminated. The solid wood legs are available in natural or black oak.

PH Axe Table, natural oak legs, laminated plate, without lamp
By Poul Henningsen

Inspired by the humble axe handle, Poul Henningsen has utilized this familiar and tactile shape to provide the basis for the legs of the versatile table.
