About the Item

This rectangular table presents a composed and measured presence, defined by well-proportioned volumes and a clear architectural logic. The top appears deliberately restrained, its thickness balanced by the vertical thrust of the legs, which taper gently towards the floor. The silhouette is calm and controlled, with a sense of visual lightness achieved through the careful spacing of elements and the subtle recessing of the structural supports. In the room, the table occupies space with quiet authority, neither assertive nor decorative, but firmly grounded. Executed in oak, the surface displays a warm, even tone, with a visible grain that animates the planes without disturbing their clarity. The apron is articulated with understated carved detailing beneath the edges, introducing a rhythmic note that softens the geometry. The legs are shaped with a restrained sculptural quality, featuring stepped inner profiles that suggest careful hand-finishing rather than industrial repetition. Joints appear precise and well resolved, indicative of skilled cabinetmaking and an emphasis on durability alongside refinement. The table can be placed within the Italian production of the 1940s and is attributed to Guglielmo Ulrich, a figure known for his ability to mediate between classical proportion and modern restraint. The design reflects a period in which traditional craftsmanship remained central, while forms were progressively simplified. The result is an object that aligns with the sober elegance of mid-century Italian interiors, avoiding overt stylistic statements in favour of balance and material integrity. The table is in very good condition. It has been professionally restored and refinished by our internal atelier, with close attention paid to preserving the character of the wood and the clarity of the original lines. Minor traces of wear consistent with age remain visible, contributing to the overall authenticity of the piece. Measurements: Height 78 cm (30.7 in) x Width 151 cm (59.4 in) x Depth 90 cm (35.4 in)
