The Philippines were a Spanish colony for over 300 years, so this is a wonderful example of European/Spanish style crafted from narra, a stunning hardwood with a beautiful dark patina and smooth, worn finish. These types of tables were typically done for monasteries and Spanish related families.
Narra is the national tree of the Philippines, because it is resilient and strong, and is today a protected specie.
