About the Item
This LC table was designed in 1975 and manufactured on September 26th, 1979 by Anonima Castelli in Bologna, Italy. This version is the extra-long 12-seat conference table or dining table. Measuring 110 in (280 cm) long and 37 in (94 cm) wide. It features a dark rosewood grain filled book matched veneered top with a sumptuous matte lacquer finish. It has been professionally refinished to perfection. The legs are made of bent chromed steel in a most captivating and functional configuration.
It invokes the aesthetic of Magistretti's Sesann and Scarpa's Soriana, while also paying homage to The Bauhaus greats of Mies van der Rohe and Marcel Breuer. The LC table, designed by Castelli Design Studio in 1975, stands out among the company's corporate products in its executive-oriented wing. It can be seen as an indestructible monolith, in a pure relationship between aesthetics and function donated to man.
Design Studio Castelli, originally led by Antonio Nerozzi, revolutionized Italian industrial design. From traditional Bolognese furniture, it enriched its methodology through designers such as Paolo Brunetti, Gino Gamberini, Augusto Quattrino and Giancarlo Piretti, who created some of the brand's most iconic products.
Founded in Bologna in 1877 by Ettore Castelli, it has established itself thanks to its formidable intuition oriented towards the evolution of the product, transporting its production of furniture and collective spaces towards unmistakable forms. A result obtained thanks to the continuous dialogue and collaboration established with the world of design and its greatest spokesmen, those capable of translating craftsmanship into an industrial process and who have made it a constant point of reference at the center of the contemporary design panorama.
