This is an antique reader’s table. An English, mahogany Pembroke or sofa table with book storage, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820. A superb and highly practical example, well suited to the avid reader.
Fascinating drop leaf form with fall front storage
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
Select stocks present fine grain interest and warm caramel hues
Pair of drop leaves rise and suspend upon folding flying arm supports
Faux drawer fascia to each side disguises fall-front book repositories
Ample storage for novels and periodicals within the twin compartments
Fascia hosts inset brass lined locks — in working order, key present
