About the Item

Decorate a den, library, or wine cellar with this elegant 19th-century occasional table. Crafted in France circa 1870, the antique side table stands on turned, fluted legs joined by an X-form stretcher centered with a carved finial. The rectangular top features a single drawer across the front dressed with a brass pull, and is surmounted by a hand-painted blue-and-white Delft tile depicting a lively tavern scene in the manner of David Teniers the Younger. The painted ceramic panel, protected under a clear glass top, captures a spirited moment of 17th-century conviviality, characteristic of Teniers’ celebrated genre scenes. The table is finished in a rich, ebonized patina with warm sheen, showcasing excellent condition commensurate with age and use. A refined collector’s piece for lovers of blue-and-white porcelain and Flemish artistry alike. Measures: 23” W x 19” D x 29.5” H.
