This Antique Federal Period Mahogany Work Table, dating to around 1840, is a striking example of American craftsmanship from the Federal period. The piece is made from richly grained mahogany, displaying deep, warm tones and showcasing the wood’s natural beauty. The two drawers are accented with finely detailed brass ring pulls, adding a touch of sophistication to the otherwise classic form.
A notable feature of this table is the side drawer, which pulls out to reveal a felt top work surface on the right-hand side, offering additional functionality. The table is supported by impressive pineapple-carved pillars at each corner, a decorative and symbolic motif of hospitality.
