Constantin coffee table, Studio Simon, Italy, ca. 1970.
A tribute to Constantin Brancusi, the Constantin coffee table was designed by Studio Simon, founded by Dino Gavina, a key figure in Italian design. The base is shaped in solid oak with a wax finish, while the circular top is made of brushed satin brass. Base and top are joined by brass pins and nylon bushings, with ground support by adhesive felt. Part of the "Ultramobile" collection, the coffee table embodies the idea of a functional object as an everyday work of art. Good overall condition. Provenance: private home.
