Rare and highly decorative, semi-antique side or end table. We believe that the Asian philosopher that makes up the base or stem of this table is Confucius, but it could also be Lao Tzu (a.k.a. Laozi). This table is entirely hand carved out of alabaster and that combined with the style and subject matter makes it extra ancient looking. Unlike the Chinese philosophers this table obviously does not date from around 500 BC. This table was all handcrafted around 1960 and it is in remarkably good condition. Thanks to its practical size this stylish and decorative table can be used in all kinds of rooms. There is a timeless quality to this Asian style table which makes it easy to place in various types of interiors also. Its rarity, the craftmanship and the subject matter make it a great eyecatcher and conversation piece. Because the table top is not fastened to the base, shipping will not be a problem either.
