About the Item

An exquisite 18th-century mahogany Dutch game table adorned with inlaid mixed woods, showcases triple-hinged stacked rectangular tops that seamlessly transition from a slender console to a chess table, a felt-inlaid card table, and a compact dice table. The lower tier conceals discreet pop-up storage compartments, each level intricately inlaid with game-related iconography and subtle decorative motifs, providing both practical functionality and aesthetic appeal. The table stands on elegant cabriole legs embellished with delicate butterfly inlays and retains a warm, aged patina that accentuates the exquisite craftsmanship and the table’s extensive history of meticulous use. The marquetry possibly after, or inspired by the work of Johannes Lingelbach (1622, Frankfurt-1674, Amsterdam).
