About the Item
In this listing you will find a stunning Antique Victorian gaming table. The table features distinctive turned, or "spiral-turned," legs and an X-shaped stretcher base, which are common characteristics of the Victorian period furniture designs. The construction is made of mahogany or a similar hardwood, with the chessboard being an inlaid marquetry design using contrasting woods like maple and walnut for the light and dark squares. You can flip open the top to extend into a poker table. Underneath the top you will find a drawer designed to keep chess pieces, cards and uther gaming pieces. Made in England in the end of the 19th Century.
The table is in overall good antique condition with some signs of time and use. It is sturdy and ready for use. If you are interested in full restoration by our workshop, please reach out to get a quote.
