About the Item
Add sophistication and versatility to a salon, library, or game room with this elegant folding card table. Crafted in France circa 1930 and built of solid mahogany, the square table stands on tapered legs ending with bronze-capped feet, and features delicate marquetry inlay and banded detailing throughout. The apron houses a center drawer fitted with compartments for playing cards or chips, complete with its original brass escutcheon and key.
The top, decorated with diamond-pattern parquetry, unfolds in a clever “napkin” design and rotates to reveal a larger square surface upholstered with green velvet. Each corner is fitted with a recessed brass cup holder for drinks or tokens, blending refinement with practicality.
The Louis XVI style convertible game table is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and showcases a warm and lustrous walnut-toned patina. Both decorative and functional, this piece transitions seamlessly from occasional table to gaming surface, making it an ideal addition to any refined interior.
