About the Item

A Marvelous Pair of French Paris Mid-Century-Modern Side Tables, possibly Jansen. Each table has a rectangular black marble top with a polished surface and straight edges. The tops are supported by a structural bronze frames, the design is attributed to Jansen, Paris, and features an open geometric structure with vertical supports at the corners, connected by horizontal bars along the perimeter of the top and base. A secondary black marble shelf is positioned beneath the main surface. It is supported by two horizontal bronze bars extending inward from the frame. The shelf is rectangular with a polished surface and straight edges. The lower shelf is set within the bronze framework, with its edges aligned to the supporting structure. The marble surfaces are set within the mounts. The tables have a symmetrical, rigid structure with consistent spacing between elements, characteristic of Jansen’s design aesthetic.
