About the Item

An exceptionally long 19th Century French pine 'Vendange' table on trestle-style legs. These tables were traditionally used during the wine harvest to seat the grape pickers and to celebrate the harvest. Often hand-made by the 'estate' carpenter for this purpose. Simple in design and very long to accommodate all the workers. A romantic and unique history of the wine production in France during the 18th and 19th Centuries. Circa 1850.
