About the Item

Bring authentic vineyard character to your wine cellar or kitchen with this antique French wine maker’s table, crafted in the Poitou region circa 1880. Built from solid oak, the rustic bench features a thick, deeply patinated top richly worn from generations of use. The front is hand-inscribed “Sauternes,” referencing the renowned sweet wine from Bordeaux, and a lower rack allows storage for up to five bottles. A sturdy bottom shelf provides additional display space, while an original wrought-iron plank holder (or work clamp) remains intact—an evocative detail of its former use in a cooper’s or vintner’s workshop. With its warm walnut-tone patina, sculpted side supports, and visible tool marks, this Provincial treasure exudes history and craftsmanship. An ideal statement piece for a tasting room, wine bar, or rustic entertainment area. Measures: 47″ W × 17″ D × 31″ H. Excellent condition commensurate with age and use.
