About the Item

A good antique mahogany linen or book press by Tomas Bradford Co, London Manchester, circa 1860. The press having an upper frame with a large turned wooden screw with a turning handle that operates a platform to apply pressure to the press, the top of the turned screw with an acorn finial. The base of the press with a singe drawer with two bun shaped handles, the book press is raised on four square legs. The press is indistinctly signed on the cross bar, "Thomas Bradford Co London Manchester". The press is in very good condition and is fully functional, the press turns with ease and will press you books, paper or textiles, it is ready to grace your home or library/office.
