Fine Biedermeier sewing or side table crafted from solid cherrywood, South Germany circa 1825. The warm tone of the cherrywood combined with its distinctive grain pattern reflects the elegant simplicity typical of early Biedermeier design.
The rectangular body rests on finely shaped sledge feet connected by a central stretcher, creating a balanced and light appearance. The table features a lockable drawer with its original key and a removable compartment inside, originally intended for sewing utensils but perfectly suited today for storing jewelry or small personal items.
Professionally restored with a hand-polished shellac surface, the table presents a soft satin sheen that highlights the wood’s natural color and texture. A charming, authentic piece that embodies the refinement and craftsmanship of the early 19th century.
