This stunning French 19th century work table/small drapery table from Burgundy, with its thick oak top and legs that have been raised to standing height, would make a gorgeous kitchen island. Crafted from solid walnut and oak, it remains incredibly sturdy and level. Made in a framed, two-board style, the characteristics of practicality and soundness define this handsome double-decker table. The solid top has rounded, molded corners for the comfort and convenience of the person working and showcases the rich brown tone of the wood now touched with an excellent patina from time and use. The apron contains a center drawer with original hardware that is divided inside for an organized storage space. Straight, square legs provide support for sustained everyday use. This rustic table would be a most original addition to a contemporary home.
