About the Item

his elegant side table originates from the late Biedermeier to early Historicism period, around 1850. The piece is crafted from solid cherrywood with a beautifully warm, honey-colored surface that highlights the fine natural grain. Its design is both practical and decorative, featuring finely turned legs connected by a shaped stretcher and a single drawer, whose interior is made of pinewood as was typical for the period. The table has been carefully restored by hand, surface polished with shellac, and finished to a smooth satin sheen. It is stable, clean, and ready for immediate use. Because of its graceful proportions and timeless aesthetic, the piece works well as a side table, writing desk, or sewing table, fitting effortlessly into both classical and modern interiors. An authentic 19th-century original in very good restored condition - a charming example of German craftsmanship from the Biedermeier tradition transitioning into Historicism.
