About the Item

Presenting a very elegant George III style Mahogany lowboy with three drawers and a delicate marquetry Crossbanded top with inner Rosewood Band and Burr Wood Centre The is a super useful piece of furniture which only cements its design in its 200 year history - it has stood the test of time in both its construction and its design. Perfect as a side table, bedside table or small dressing table this beautifully crafted piece of furniture has a myriad of uses. The design in classical of the George III style with the three very useful drawers, two small top and one larger below (very useful and in very good condition - no warping and all three slide in and out with ease) with the over hanging top and the straight square tapered legs. We believe the castors are a later addition probably in the Victorian period but also in very good condition and all still rotate making this piece useful and easily movable The is one slightly different swan neck handle as shown in the photos which we believe and were told is the only remaining original handle, which is clearly visible to be older to the others. So we suspect that the three matching handles where added when the originals broken and think they are likely to be late Victorian additions - perhaps when the castors were fitted We have taken as many photos as we can but please let us know if you need more information

These beautiful hand-carved solid hardwood Side Tables in Mahogany and hand applied 24Ct Gold Leaf finish were entirely hand-crafted by the wonderful Florentine craftspeople at Gallo SNC in Florence Italy. This beautifully designed table hand carved from solid wood has 3 tapering fluted legs, rosette details to the top of each leg around the banding with acanthus leaf feet and carved rope trim detail to the base of the banding - all accentuated with precious metal leaf. The glass top also features a 1"/ 2.5cm deep bevelled edge - super chic and with elegant design details Established in 1910 by Luciano Gallo who specialised in furniture and boat building, he established his business in furniture and lighting manufacture after WWII. This amazing family workshop has continued the tradition of fine hand crafted interior furnishings since and is now run by Jacopo Gallo, still in the heart of Florence after 100 years.
