About the Item
ASTER Table in Natural Tzalam by Daniel Couttolenc
Dimensions: D 39 x W 39x H 56 cm.
Materials: Natural Tzalam.
The Aster Side Table is a versatile masterpiece by Daniel Couttolenc that unites form and spirit through sacred geometry. Crafted from rich Tzalam wood, this design embodies the hexagram—an archetypal symbol of balance between heaven and earth, masculine and feminine.
Ingeniously conceived as three components, the Aster transforms from side table to two auxiliary tables and a tray, adapting to your needs. Each piece creates subtle vibrations that invite contemplation, speaking beyond what can be seen.
Customizations are available upon request.
Daniel’s design universe is an eclectic fusion of worlds: from industrial car design and interior architecture to photography and collectible furniture. In many aspects, this synthesis of contrasts found its harmony through Daniel’s study of sacred geometry.
Daniel’s practice is meticulous and detail-driven. He approaches each design with reverence for proportion, symmetry, and energy. Rather than conceiving geometry as ornamentation, he treats it as a generative system - one that brings structural clarity and spiritual resonance to each piece. His works are conceived not just as functional objects, but as living expressions of harmony, creating subtle vibrations that invite reflection and connection.
Through this synthesis of precision and intuition, Daniel is shaping a new narrative for design: one where the measurable and the mystical are no longer opposites, but inseparable voices within the same harmony.

Galerie Philia
Galerie Philia is an international contemporary sculptural design and art gallery representing emerging and established designers and artists. The gallery is the brainchild of two brothers who share a lifetime passion for art, literature and philosophy. Their distinct academic background sets them apart from their peers, as it sees them following a rhizomatic and transcultural approach in the way they select works. This involves combining elements from multiple cultures in what becomes a network of harmoniously interconnected roots, ultimately revealing the beauty of each unique creation. The gallery’s non-hierarchical curation sits apart from the ephemerality of trends and focuses instead on the true aesthetic quality of the piece – alluring and timeless. Unlike others, Galerie Philia does not focus on a single style – whether minimalist, organic or raw – but rather embraces heterogeneity. The Galerie Philia takes pride in discovering new talents, providing them with multiple international platforms to showcase their latest creations. As well as propelling the newest generation of 21st century collectible design, Galerie Philia also works with internationally known design artists. Galerie Philia has a strong international presence, with galleries in Geneva, New York and Singapore. In addition to their permanent spaces, the gallery organizes temporary group exhibitions and artists residencies in first-class locations around the world.

Studio ANANSI, founded by Evan Jerry in 2018, represents a reection on modernity with a nod to the Afrocentric elements that have been missed or masked in contemporary design.
Evan’s Caribbean heritage and global education is pronounced in the studio's collections, with the name ANANSI itself being taken from West African and West Indian folklore. The beloved and omniscient character of Anansi is a mythical character known in many fables to be a god of knowledge and storytelling. Anansi is renowned for nding transformative ways of turning relative weakness into strength and virtue. Being raised in Canada, the importance of an ancestral character like this who protects history and knowledge became an important inuence on Evan. In turn, the practice of representation and transformation becomes evident in what is produced through his vision. Evan and Studio ANANSI oer a clever and confronting understanding of all our connections to prologue through sculptural, and architectural storytelling. Studio ANANSI has collaborated with renowned American furniture brand...

Organic Modern Sculptural Side Table in Sustainable Ancient Matai Wood
By Tréology
Located in Papanui, Christchurch
The Emerge side table is a modern organic form made from ancient matai trees (a native timber of New Zealand) that have fallen naturally into rivers and preserved for hundreds of years under sediment layers before natural water erosion exposes them.
We rescue these trees from the river and continue their journey to become a cherished piece of functional art. This sustainable timber, naturally felled by nature, has been carbon dated at over 1500 years old. A sculptural shape made from individual pieces of matai wood formed together to make a patch work grain pattern.
The wood is finished with a hand rubbed, low V.O.C., natural plant oils to bring the stunning grain to life.
Diameter 13.75” x H 15.75”
Diameter 350mm x H 400mm
Handmade in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Wood: Ancient river rescued matai wood
Finish: Natural Low VOC Oil
Customization of wood finish available by request.
