Jää Sustainable Indoor and Outdoor Bench Made with Recycled Plastic in Black
By Jo Wilton and Mirka Grohn
Located in Leicester, GB
Jää - a Finnish word for both ice and ‘please stay’. The inspiration for this bench / seating came from the beautiful and practical nature of recycled plastic and its environmentally friendly credentials. The white color of this material made us think about melting slushy snow and ice. The black made us think of the ground, and how dark it looks once the snow melts and exposes the soil after a long winter. Made with a mixture of polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) plastic with small aluminium spacers and nuts, the Jää bench is fully recyclable. The PE and PP plastic shapes are 100% recycled post-consumer plastic i.e. pure waste that has been diverted from landfills. Through the design and the use of materials, we wanted to show that recycled furniture...

Pair of English Regency Period 19th Century Zebra Wood Tables with Brass Gallery
Located in Atlanta, GA
A pair of English Regency period bedside tables from the 19th century, with zebra wood top, single drawer, three-quarter brass gallery and turned legs. Created in England during the Regency period that saw the transition of power between George III and George IV, this pair of bedside tables attracts our attention with its striped zebra wood structure. Each table features a rectangular top surrounded by a delicate three-quarter brass gallery pierced with a regular succession of heart-shaped motifs. The apron showcases a single drawer with two wooden pulls opening to reveal an unfinished interior. The sides, along with the back, are made of similar zebra wood panels. The tables are raised on slender turned legs boasting a dark hue contrasting with the upper section's lighter tones beautifully.
