About the Item
This is an heavy Empire Style Grey Green Marble Bronze Pedestal. It depicts a tall four sided tapered marble walls pedestal. The marble walls of the pedestal are embellished with three gilt bronze bas-reliefs. The upper part of it is decorated with a wreath with a large bow and a profile in the center, in the middle part there is a tall vase with a bunch of roses and the bottom part is adorned with a bronze center piece made of garlands and flowers. The rectangular grey marble top of the pedestal is mounted over a gilt bronze “vase like ” platform that its upper borders are adorned with a carved pattern of acanthus leaves and its lower ones with an eggs and dart pattern. This pattern is repeated the other way around below the neck of this “vase” that will be attached to the walls of marbles of the pedestal. The pedestal is supported by a rectangular gilt bronze base decorated with a carving pattern of acanthus leaves that stands over gilt bronze lions paws.
