About the Item
Antique early 20th century French Louis XVI style giltwood rectangular pedestal stand with marble top and lower cane tier. Tall and elegant, this stand has a white and gray fitted marble top edged by twisted ribbon detail above an apron with corner rosettes and central scrolls on each side raised on fluted, straight legs with tapered feet, joined by a lower cane tier. The stand has a nicely aged patina with a lightly distressed, soft gilt finish. Beautiful floral and foliate carved detail rendered in an understated manner lends this piece refined sophistication. The cane is intact, and the threading through the holes underneath is secure.
