About the Item
Display a bust, vase, or sculpture on these elegant 19th century pedestals. Crafted in Southern France circa 1870 and built of solid walnut, each column stands on a thick molded plinth base with bracket feet and a square top surface measuring 11.75” x 11.75”. The pedestal shafts feature striking hand-carved barley twist designs characteristic of the Louis XIII style, lending movement and architectural depth. The rich walnut grain and warm patina emphasize the natural beauty of the wood, enhanced by centuries of gentle aging.
Both stands are sturdy and well-proportioned, though one is slightly taller than the other (¼ inch difference), adding authentic charm to the pair.
