About the Item
A chic and handsome pair of pedestals, a stylish fusion of classical and Mid-century design. They also feel very Parisian and art deco, they easily blend into any refined interior. Finished in a unique faux-bois technique, they artfully mimic the look of finely grained wood, bringing warmth and texture to their sculptural form. Each pedestal has a square silhouette with a stepped body, creating architectural depth and interest. A Greek Key motif encircles the top portion, highlighted with well-appointed gold gilt accents that enhance their timeless appeal. They could be used as a pair of coffee tables, perfect for smaller spaces. Very sturdy!
Their provenance adds an extra layer of distinction, they were once part of the esteemed private collection of Jerome and Bridget Dobson. Jerome Dobson was a distinguished screenwriter who, alongside his wife, collaborated on various television projects. Bridget Dobson, also a talented screenwriter, worked closely with her husband on numerous projects, forming a dynamic creative partnership that significantly influenced American television. The couple’s collaboration was particularly notable in their work on soap operas and dramatic series, where they were known for their intricate storytelling and strong character development.
