About the Item

Incredibly special pedestal, made in the late 19. century, around 1880 in Austria or Bavaria, in typical Schwarzwald - Black Forest decor / Tramp Art. The column is made from wood that has been stained to a dark shade. The entire column is richly carved by hand, with many different motifs, including a shepherdess with a goat, rich vegetation, birds and many special details. A true masterpiece. Measurements approx: height 45,28 in - 115 cm, diameter 15,75 in - 40 cm upper diameter: 10,24 in - 26 cm With this pillar, not only the object presented on it - such as a bust, a planter or a clock - is an eye-catcher but also the pedestal itself. A rare masterpiece in perfectly restored condition. There are small old restorations and a few wormholes (no longer active), but these do not disturb the richly decorated surface.
