This small Italian table from the 1940s is a graceful piece with excellent woodwork. The first thing you notice is the round tabletop with its slightly raised and subtly beveled edge. The underside of the top, though, reveals a little more flair; scalloped in a soft, decorative rhythm. The natural grain of the walnut brings a subtle, almost shimmering pattern that shifts slightly depending on how the light hits it. Four sharply tapering forms angle outward in a stance that is both stable and dynamic. The combination of rounded and angular shapes, along with the varying rhythms – the quiet undulation of the wood grain, the scalloped apron, the jutting legs – captures the period’s fascination with form, movement, and material
